Advanced Biofuels capacity will increase to 1.7 billon gallons by 2013: downloadable database
In Florida, Biofuels Digest released its updated Advanced Biofuels tracking database, release 1.1, with advanced biofuels production capacity now projected to reach 1.704 billion gallons by the end of 2013, based on announced projects and updated company guidance. The previous 1.0 release of the database last year had projected production capacity at 1.3 billion gallons.
The database is now tracking 56 companies with advanced biofuels projects in 13 countries. Among key findings – drop in fuels are expected to pass ethanol as the leading fuel type for advanced biofuels by 2012, in terms of production capacity, while algal fuel is projected to reach 421.08 Mgy in capacity by 2013. The database contains some project announcements and company guidance for 2014, but the data should be used carefully due to the long-range nature of those projects, which are subject to changes in capacity and market conditions.
The database is available free to registered subscribers of Biofuels Digest. Subscriptions are free; sign-up at www.biofuelsdigest.com.
