Ugandan sugar growers to invest $100 million in sugarcane ethanol capacity

In Uganda, the chairman of the Uganda Sugar Cane Technologists’ Association told Reuters that the industry will invest $100 million in ethanol production, with a goal of producing 5.8 Mgy. According to the Reuters report, the country has a potential capacity of up to 8 Mgy, based on 112,000 tonnes of molasses produced at three plants.
