In Washington, the National Corn Growers Association and growers from 14 states have developed a $1 million ad campaign hat will target the Washington DC area. THE NCGA said that the campaign would not focus on any particular issue – such s the Brazilian ethanol tariff, farm subsidies, or the links between high-fructise corn sweetener and obesity among children, but commented that the campaign would seek to boost the image and visibility of corn farmers.
“What we found is that most people still hold farmers in high esteem,” Mark Lambert of the Corn Farmers Coalition told St Louis Today, “but didn’t think many of them are left. If you look at the broad spectrum of farmers out there, they’re using the best technology to do more with less.”
