Mush! First biodiesel plant in Alaska opens
In Alaska, Alaska Waste Solutions commenced production at its 365,000 gpy waste cooking oil-based biodiesel production facility. The new facility, constructed in Salem, Oregon by Pacific Biodiesel Technologies and JVNW, the plant was disassembled for shipment and reassembled in Anchorage. The system developed buy Pacific Biodiesel is a modular system with storage, utilities and the biodiesel process system built in six shipping containers, then reassembled on site. Alask Green Waste Solutions will use the biodiesel for its fleet of waste collection trucks operated by sister company Alaska Waste, the largest fleet of its type in the state.
