Canada invests $18.24M in Biocardel Quebec

In Canada, the Government, through the ecoENERGY for biofuels programme has announced its intention to invest $18.24 million over the next seven years in Biocardel Quebec’s Richmond plant.  The plant produces biodiesel and glycerol.  Minister of Natural Resources Chrsitian Paradis commented, “By investing in this project we are helping to create and sustain local jobs and economic opportunities while creating a healthier environment for all Canadians.”  The plant renders animal fat, vegetable or cooking oil into 10.5 MGy, which will be sold to both Quebec and U.S. based diesel producers.  This is part of a US$1.46 billion, nine year  investment plan of the Canadian Government.
