EU sued over biofuels policy by ClientEarth, others

| September 22, 2010

In Belgium, the European Commission is being sued yet for lack of transparency in its biofuels policy making. Plaintiffs, led by ClientEarth, are claiming that the EC failed to disclose emails related to a study published in April that included negative details about the impacts of biofuels. The suit was filed in the EU’s General Court in Luxembourg. The EC was sued in March on similar pretenses by NGOs claiming that the European executive body was withholding negative reports on biofuels.
