Beckons Industries, GTZ to establish algal biofuels facility in India

In India, Bombay-based Beckons Industries Ltd has joined the German Development Agency, GTZ, to set up a facility to produce algae feedstock for commercial-scale biodiesel projects. Under the agreement, GTZ will work with Beckons to establish a center of excellence and a facility to produce algae feedstock for biodiesel in India.

This project falls under the Indo-German Environment Programme (ASEM), which is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Environment and Forests which works on environmental improvement and sustainable development.
