Powers Energy awaits permits on $254M MSW-to-ethanol facility

In Indiana, Powers Energy is waiting for permission from the state’s Department of Environmental Management to begin work on its planned $254 million MSW-to-ethanol facility in Lake County. Officials are waiting for permission on a similar plant in Florida to be approved before going ahead. The company has reached terms with three companies to build the plant, which could begin as early as spring 2011.
