Itochu to invest $120M in Philippine ethanol project

In the Philippines, Itochu announced that it will invest $120 million in an integrated sugarcane ethanol and power project in San Mariano, Isabela, which will cover 11,000 hectares and produce up to 14 Mgy of ethanol and 19 MW of green power, of which 13 MW will be supplied to the national grid. Ther project is expected to provide 15,000 jobs in the sugarcane operation and 500 in the integrated biorefinery. JGC,  Philippine Bioethanol and Energy Investments, and Taiwan’s GCO are also participating as investors.
