UK may introduce "Renewable Energy Bonus”

In the UK, while much of the country is reeling under massive federal budget cuts, a new program is being developed that is likely to encourage the development of biofuel projects as well as other businesses that fall under the ‘green’ category. As part of the “Local Growth White Paper”, a “Renewable Energy Bonus” may be introduced that will allow the taxes generated by renewable energy to remain in the community where the project is located. In essence, the more renewable energy a community produces, the more funds will be available for education and health services.
