Schwarzenegger tops poll as preferred Secretary of Energy

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California was the top choice for DOE Secretary, in a Biofuels Digest reader poll conducted yesterday, taking 28 percent of the votes.  Cleantech VC and former DOE official Steve Westley came in second with 13 percent, while former Dupont chairman Chad Holliday was third with 12 percent. Google environment chief Dan Reicher, Senator Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico, and Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers polled between 8 and 11 percent each.

Current Secretary Steven Chu received 3 percent of the votes on a write-in for retention, while Senator Byron Dorgan of North Dakota and Professor Ernest Moniz of MIT, and Amory Lovins of the Rocky Mountain Institute, each polled 2 percent from write-in ballots.
