Why they're Hot: Neste Oil – #39 so far (#40 last year)

November 24, 2010 |

The Latest News: In November, Neste Oil opened its NExBTL renewable diesel plant in Singapore, which is the largest renewable diesel plant in the world at 800,000 metric tons per year of capacity. Production will be ramped up on a phased basis. The plant was completed on-schedule and on-budget.

The Digest’s Take: The offtake is heading straight for California, say industry insiders, as soon as it passes EPA muster. Wherever it goes, Neste has constructed an advanced biofuels monster, the significance of which the readers have not quite yet caught on to.
