UK wheat exports may sag under domestic ethanol demand

In the UK, demand for wheat from biofuel facilities is expected to increase with pressure on local supplies in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire seen unable to support export demand. Ethanol producers are seeking wheat with high carbohydrate levels and low protein, but demand is expected to be so high that producers will take whatever they can get as long as it qualifies under EU sustainability regulations and meets mycotoxin standards for animal feed.
