A couple notes on the second 50. Tough luck for AE Biofuels, Praj Industries, Solix, Aurora Algae and Renewable Energy Group. We’re especially mystified by the low showing fro REG – which has a recovering business sector, is making acquisitions – primed for a great showing. New entries doing well this year – OPX Biotechnolgies, Clear Fuels, Phycal, Verdezyne, Anellotech.

A lot of algae in the second 50 – Aurora, Phycal, Targeted Growth, Aquaflow Bionomic, Bioalgene, and Live Fuels.

A lot of feedstock specialists. Price BIOStock, Genera Enrgy, Taregted Growth, Mendel Biotechnology, SynGest and Syngenta.

A number of chemicals/fuels combos graced the second 50 – OPX Biotechnologies, GlycosBio, Avantium, Verdezyne, and Blue Marble Biomaterials among them.
