Florida's Lake Wales OKs $750K grant for ethanol project

In Florida, the Lake Wales City Commission approved a request to get a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant for Economic Development to provide infrastructure to support development property known as the “Old Sealy Building” and other surplus property into an ethanol plant to be run by Energy One Lake Wales LLC. The grant requires no local match, but could help open up 180 acres of land for future development, once the infrastructure is in place. For this one project, he said the city can leverage $25 million in development from the grant.
