Indiana's Lake County will not take an equity ownership stake at waste-to-ethanol plant

In Indiana, Lake County Solid Waste Management District’s board unanimously voted not to take an equity ownership stake in the proposed Powers Energy waste-to-ethanol plant which is expected to open in the district. The $254 million project had raised concerns amongst locals that the county would get saddled with debt liability if the project did not succeed financially. The  amended contract between Powers and Lake County has been sent to Powers for signature.
