Minnesota plant does not require an environmental study, will move forward faster

In Minnesota, the state Court of Appeals ruled that a $133 million ethanol plant near Eyota, proposed by MinnErgy, does not require a full environmental study, allowing the project to move forward as soon as financing is secured.
However, opponents to the plant still believe it will have significant negative economic and environmental impacts and are considering an appeal to the state Supreme Court, which must be decided in the next few weeks.
