Thailand's B5 blending program put on hold due to palm oil shortage

In Thailand, the government’s B5 blending program has been put on hold due to a palm oil shortage with local supply only around 70,000 metric tons, compared to usual levels of around 120,000 tons. The country’s production this year was seen at 1.7 million tonnes of crude palm oil this year, of which 1 million tonnes are used in the food industry, 600,000 tonnes for biodiesel and the rest for export. The country’s current B3 program requires 900,000 tons of palm oil.
