Swiss study says second-generation biofuels are unique, use waste materials as feedstock

In Switzerland, a new study by the federal office of power and environment says that second-generation biofuels are only ‘green’ when waste materials or waste products are used as a feedstock.  The report condemns first generation biofuels for harming biodiversity, competing with food and lower environmental benefits than originally expected.
