December 30, 2010 |

In North Carolina, Maverick Biofuels announced that they are collaborating with Professional Project Services of Raleigh to develop the front-end engineering designs for a new pilot scale biorefinery in North Carolina.  Maverick Biofuels is planning to build a biorefinery to produce mixed-alcohol biofuels from biomass and municipal solid waste, which we covered on October 18th.  The pilot scale biorefinery is Maverick’s planned next step towards design and construction of a large-scale commercial facility.  PPS offers engineering design services for industrial clients in the chemical, pulp & paper, pharmaceutical, fertilizer, manufacturing and power marketplace. PPS is working with Maverick in support for the design and process integration of both pilot and commercial plants.
