Omnicane to move into Mauritius ethanol production

In Mauritius, the sugar producer, Omnicane Ltd., announced its plans to start producing ethanol on an industrial basis from June 2011.
Omnicane will own 31 percent of Omnicane Ethanol Holding, which plans to produce 22.5 million liters of ethanol per year. Investment in the project is estimated at $23.5 million (700 million rupees).
