Renewable BioSystems extracting yellow grease from organic waste streams

January 11, 2011 |

In New Jersey, Renewable BioSystems announced their first North American sale of one of its line of oil extraction machines, for installation during the first quarter of 2011. The unnamed RBL customer for this machine supplies oil feedstocks to biodiesel plants.  RBL technology separates the oil from organic waste streams such as food factory waste, livestock offal, fish residuals and various sludges.

This RBL machine will be extracting the oil from food manufacturing plant waste that had previously been discarded, thus creating a new source of feedstock supply for biodiesel production. The machine will initially generate approximately 500,000 gallons annually of yellow grease equivalent.   RBL states its technology can be scaled up to produce up over 5,000,000 gallons annually of extracted oil per machine.
