Biofuels Digest Index hits new 29-month high of 84.94 on ethanol, algae surge

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, gained 0.70 percent to a 29-month high of 84.94 as ethanol and algae advanced.  For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) advanced 0.37 percent to $32.21. while BlueFire Renewables (BFRE.OB) retreated 8.89 percent to $0.41 as investors waited out news on a pending USDA loan guarantee application. Among other equities, OriginOil (OOIL.OB) gained 18.18 percent to $0.26 on news of a tighter product strategy. Overall, advances led declines 3 to 1 for the day.
