115 Mgy Montana ethanol project receives phase 1 DOE loan guarantee approval

In Montana, after a 20-year hiatus, a proposal for a 115 million gallon per year ethanol plant near Great Falls is awaiting news that it may be partially funded under the Department of Energy’s Advanced Biofuels Loan Guarantee Program. The project has already received phase 1 approval. The facility would use wheat and barley as feedstock and would produce biochar among other more standard byproducts.
