Biofuels Digest Index soars 2.81 percent to 30-month high of 88.53

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, soared 2.81 percent to a 30-month high of 88.53 on a broad renewables advance. For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) soared 6.21 percent to $34.70 on a 30 percent increase in Q2 earnings to $732 million, while BP advanced 1.07 percent to 47.98. Among other equities, Cosan (CZZ) jumped 6.16 percent to $13.78. Overall, advances led declines 9 to 1 for the day.
