Flint Hills Resources invests in biodiesel technology developer Benefuel

In Illinois, Flint Hills Resources recently closed on an equity investment in Benefuel. Benefuel’s ENSEL process combines esterification of free fatty acids and transesterification of triglycerides into a single process, which is a long-standing technology goal of the biodiesel and oleochemical industries.

Flint Hills Resources, LLC, through its subsidiaries, is a leading refining and chemicals company. It markets products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, ethanol, olefins, polymers and intermediate chemicals as well as base oils and asphalt.
