In the UK, the Welsh Assembly has given $32.4 million to Aberystwyth University’s Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Science who will work with partners at Bangor and Swansea Universities as part of the BEACON initiative to develop biofuels that can be used for green transport in the future. The project has already received $16.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund.
