Spain boost biofuels mandate to 7 percent in 2011 to combat higher oil prices

In Spain, the country has boosted biofuel blending quotas to 7% energy content for 2011 from the previously expected 5.9%, and much higher than 2010’s 4.78%, in an effort to offset higher oil prices.  That’s roughly E10 and B8 nationwide. The country has already lowered the speed limit on highways from 120km per hour to 110.
