Cosan-Shell JV – Raizen – expected to create up to $2B in synergies

In Brazil, Cosan says it expects its JV with Shell—called Raizen—to create synergies of up to $2 billion. Raizen will boost sugarcane-crushing capacity to 100 million metric tons a year from current output of 60 million tons. Ethanol production is expected to more than double over the next five years to five billion liters a year.
