German ethanol industry seeks cut in E10 ethanol taxes

In Germany, fuel retailers are asking the government to cut fuel taxes on the new E10 blends by 2 cents per liter in an effort to boost poorer-than-expected sales after a wave of controversy linked to miscommunication regarding which cars can and can not support E10. They say this is to account for the lower energy content associated to higher levels of ethanol blended in gasoline.
