Michigan courts reject receiver for idled biodiesel plant

In Michigan, a Lenawee County circuit judge has ruled that appointment of a receiver for the NextDiesel plant in Adrian would be an unnecessary cost for a facility that is not generating any revenue. Citizens Bank asked the court to appoint a receiver after it was stuck paying nearly $30,000 in delinquent electric bills last month after Consumers Energy shut off power to the unused building, which the bank says will give buyers the opportunity to push the sale price even further.
