ADM buys Prairie Pride biodiesel unit, soybean crushing facility

In Missouri, Archer Daniel Midland is buying a soybean crushing and biodiesel facility in Deerfield from Prairie Pride and will develop a JV with the company for biodiesel production. Prairie Pride, Inc. is a new-generation producer cooperative formed of 1,000 farmers to convert soybeans into biodiesel fuel and soy meal. The facility began producing biodiesel in late 2007 and processing soybeans in August 2008.
