BP to invest $2B in alternative energy in 2011

In New York, the head of BPā€™s alternative energy business said that the company plans to invest $2 billion in alternative energy in 2011, in part with its recent investments in Brazilian sugarcane ethanol but also it is looking forward to next generation, non-food based production technologies.

The company had invested $5 billion in alternatives by the end of 2010.
