Biopetrol to close German plant

In Germany, BioPetrol Industries will close its 150,000 metric ton per year biodiesel plant in Schwarzheide in June because it is too far inland to be able to export and the local biodiesel market is saturated. The company, which is controlled by Glencore, also has a 200,000 tonne biodiesel plant in the east German port of Rostock and a 650,000 tonne plant in the Dutch port of Rotterdam.
