Petrobras aims at soaring Brazilian ethanol prices

In Brazil, the federal government has ordered Petrobras to boost ethanol production and stockpiles in order to pressure soaring ethanol prices. Ethanol prices reached $1.07 per liter on March 23 in Northern Sao Paolo state, double the price from a year ago. The government is currently considering what kinds of regulations it can put in place to make sure that ethanol prices stay low enough for consumers.
