EU canola imports jump, as Polish biodiesel mandates bite

In Europe, canola production is expected to remain mostly static at 20.8 million metric tons while imports will likely jump by 20% with the majority coming from the Ukraine. Roughly 63% of EU canola oil is expected to be used for biodiesel production in 2011-12, partly as a result of higher blending mandates in Poland.
