Network Like Crazy

April 14, 2011 |

As ABLC nears, who would you like to meet with, to explore opportunities for mutual benefit? For ABLC attendees, and all Digest newsletter subscribers, here’s the Digest’s Networking Tool to help you get introductions to the companies you are interested in knowing.

With registrations now complete, delegates from 300 companies will be attending the Advanced Biofuels Leadership Conference in Washington, DC, which kicks off Tuesday morning with a special workshop on Government policy.

Because of the time constraints, we keep ABLC locked down to about 400 attendees, and next week they will be “networking like crazy” as policymakers, financiers, developing companies, established players, researchers get themselves synchronized in the surge towards commercialization and locking in a first-mover advantage.

You Can Never Meet Enough Smart People

Today, we’d like to do something a little different, which is to say, we’d like to make sure that all our readers – even those who won’t be attending ABLC – have some networking opportunities flowing out of DigestWeek and the ABLC conference.

Here, in the Digest, you’ll find a list of participating ABLC companies, available for free download. For privacy reasons, we will not be making names or email addresses of attendees available.

Here’s What You Do

However, if you place a checkmark next to any companies you would like to be in contact with, and add a brief description of the reason for your interest in the column next to the company, plus a short (250 word) description of your company, and your contact info, and return the spreadsheet to [email protected] – we will be sharing every request for contact with a representative of each company you select.

If you are an ABLC attendee – be sure to mark that down in the spreadsheet in the box indicated, and indicate in the subject line “ABLC Networking” when you return the spreadsheet to me. I’ll prioritize that, so that you have every chance to hook up at ABLC, if you have some available slots on your dance card.

Now, we are not quite sure – with a readership of 75,000 between the web and newsletter – if we are going to receive 10 responses, or 10,000. And it may take some time to work our way through all the requests. If we get swamped with requests, we’ll develop this as an online tool for readers.

A request is not a guarantee of a meeting. But networking is the lifeblood of our industry, and we would very much like all of our readers to maximize their opportunities for networking this year.

Our Everyday Low Price of Free

The cost? Like the newsletter itself, this comes at the everyday low price of free. It’s one way for me to say thanks to our loyal readers, and assist you in your mission to grow your organization and play the biggest part you can in the transition to a bio-based society.
