Nuffield report sparks anti-biofuels hype in UK

April 14, 2011 |

In the UK, a new report by the Nuffield Council on Bioethics recommends temporarily removing the legal requirements for biofuel use in Europe until safeguards have been put in place to prevent their use causing environmental and social problems both at home and abroad but points out the benefits of next generation biofuels and the need to move forward with their development quickly in order to make them economically viable.

Many UK news sources took the opportunity to put a negative spin when reporting on the report though the actual text of the report is far from anti-biofuels.
