Sirona to sell locally-made, discount biodiesel in California

April 19, 2011 |

In California, Sirona Fuels, owner of the only commercial-scale biodiesel production facility in the Bay Area, announced that beginning on Earth Day, Friday, April 22, consumers can purchase locally produced biodiesel at the Blue Sky Bio-Fuels facility at 851 49th Ave., in Oakland.

The fuel will be offered to the public at an average savings of over 25 cents per gallon compared with petroleum-based diesel. Additionally, when local businesses recycle their used cooking oil with Sirona Fuels, 20% of the sale price of the resulting biodiesel goes to The Sirona Cares Foundation to support Bay Area schools and other educational programs for children.
