USDA's Vilsack, EPA's Jackson jointly tour farms, REG biodiesel plant

In Iowa, US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack and the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency have toured two farms and the REG Newton LLC biodiesel plant near Newton this week in order to talk with farmers about conservation and land restoration initiatives—the first time the two have traveled together. Vilsack hopes to dispel farmers’ fears that the EPA is set on regulating them out of business.
