Vale, Embrapa JV for palm oil biodiesel in Mozambique
In Mozambique, Brazil’s Vale and Embrapa have announced that they will jointly invest in palm oil production for biodiesel, expecting to produce 6,000-7,000 liters per hectare by 2014. The project will start with 10,000 hectares and work up to 30,000 hectares, producing 500,000 metric tons of biodiesel annually by 2019.

The math is a bit off, 30,000 hectares at 6,000 to 7,000 liters per hectare adds to about 200,000,000 liters per year which rounds up to 200,000 Tons.
I like their move, it is the best way to move biofuels forward, plant hundreds of thousands of hectares of feedstock and strategically make biofuels.
They can also make Pyrolysis from the biomass for a more complete production.
