Bard, ABS form algae JV in Georgia, appoint CEO

In Pennsylvania, Bard Holding Inc. and Algae Bioenergy Solutions announced a joint venture to develop an algae production facility in Augusta, Georgia. The new venture called BARD-ABS (JV) Inc., successfully launched the project with phase-one funding and initial management team integration.  Richard Wilson, was appointed CEO for the joint venture.

Ground breaking for the new algae production plant is set for May 9, 2011 at a 200,000 square foot facility on Dixon Airline Road in Augusta, Georgia. BARD will develop the site to accommodate a 10-million gallon—expandable to 100 million gallons per year capacity of algae oil production. Plans are to begin implementing the first module of BARD’s proprietary algae production system on June 14, 2011.
