Ethanol will drive up dairy yields: NZ researcher

In New Zealand, a researcher from Waikato University’s Institute of Business Studies says that the drives to free up land for ethanol production will fundamentally change the nature of the dairy industry over the next decade, forcing farmers to house cattle and feed them supplements rather than graze them as has been done traditionally. Doing so will increase dairy yields significantly, as well as whey production which can be used for even more ethanol production.
