EarthWise to deploy biofuels-powered ferry boats

In Washington state, EarthWise Ventures Inc.’s will finally see its first biofuel-powered ferry boats in Uganda when the government commissions the boat on May 28. Simple logistics and lack of infrastructure have led to the two-year delays as the Washington-built boat was re-assembled on the shore of Lake Victoria. The second boat is nearly finished and will soon be shipped and the company is looking for larger premises so it can build four at a time rather than just one at a time. The company has been working with local farmers so they can grow the sunflowers required for the biodiesel that will operate the boats.
