In Mozambique, the government has recently approved a regulation that requires a mixture of ten percent ethanol with 90 percent gasoline and 3 percent biodiesel with 97 percent diesel as of 2012. As a result of this initiative, the government expects to save around $22m USD on its fossil fuel import bill. Moreover, the government launched a database at the beginning of the year about the potential for sustainable production of biofuels.
