US ethanol production hits five-month high in June

June 13, 2011 |

In Washington, after several months of increasingly smaller ethanol production volumes, US producers have again begun to pick up the pace producing 915,000 barrels during the week ending June 3, the highest volume since late January. At the same time, the Energy Information Agency is also reporting that stocks have fallen by more than half a million barrels to 19.64 million, indicating that demand is picking up but production is still about 7 million bushels of corn worth per week less than USDA estimates.
