July 13, 2011 |

In Germany, Choren Industries who is building the country’s first cellulosic biofuels plant has declared insolvency due to financial difficulties with the start up of the company’s test plant.

The wood-based facility is expected to produce 15,000 metric tons of biofuels per year but construction operations will continue despite the declaration as negotiations will soon begin with new investors. The insolvency does not include the company’s US or Chinese subsidiaries.
