Louisiana OKs $70M bond issue for sugarcane ethanol project

In Louisiana, the state’s Public Facilities Authority Board of Trustees has granted preliminary approval for a $70 million bond to fund the country’s first sugar-to-ethanol distillery to be sited in Lacassine.

The distillery is being shipped from India in mid-summer with installation ready for next year’s cane crush in October.
