Boeing, Embraer to study production of jet fuel from sugarcane

In Brazil, aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Embraer announced plans to jointly fund a sustainability analysis to investigate the possibility of producing renewable jet fuel from Brazilian sugarcane.

The study, also funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will evaluate the environmental effects of jet fuel produced by Amyris from Brazilian sugarcane.

Additionally, the World Wildlife Fund will act as an independent advisor to the study.
