Mexico-to-Madrid on jatropha fuel: a biofuels first

In Mexico, the first transcontinental passenger flight using ASTM approved Honeywell Green Jet Fuel departed from Mexico City will arrive in Madrid today at approximately 1:25 pm EST. Aeroméxico is operating flight AM 001, a Boeing 777 carrying 277 passengers, for the inaugural flight using a blend of traditional jet fuel and Honeywell Green Jet Fuel™ made from locally-sourced jatropha.  The fuel for the flight was produced using process technology developed by Honeywell UOP.
